Description:
Part way along to the end of the south bay, approaching the harbour area, you will fin this pub facing the sea.

A big grand looking black and white building, go in and you will find a wide pub, with a lower area containing the bar, to the right, and a raised area with a pool table and some seats leading to the toilets.

The bar is well stocked, and the place is very busy.

From fishermen, to tourists, to diners, we relaxed with a pint whilst shooting a few games of pool.

Decor is wooden, and not bad, from the upper pool area you can take in the whole pub, and see the lower seating area, and p.a. for the karaoke nights etc.

Pricing is reasonable, and the beer was good.

bogs are to the rear, past the pool area.

The first thing you will notice is this dimly lit room, white wall tiles featuring a stripe of black, and a terracotta and brown tiled floor.

There is a big long trough, going round a slight corner bend as it progresses, and mounted on a white support.

P*ss soap seemed a little scarce, we found just the one, but what the hell.

There are 2 cubicles set in brown surrounds. The bogs are white with dark brown bog seats. Also on hand in each is a large roll holder.

There was lots of bog roll, but the seat in the left cubicle is wonky and covered in p*ss, and there was no bog brush!

As you wonder to the sink, there is a radiator to dry any slip-ups in your jeans, whilst you use the smint or condom machines!

There is a set of white sinks by the exit door with a large black mounted mirror, and electical hand dryer. hold and cold work fine, as does the dryer.

Not bad, 7/10

Update - May 2009:

We came back here on a recent trip to the seaside town of the north!

The pub hadn't changed much in layout, we found good beer, a friendly bar man, some new flat televisions, equipment setup for DJ use at the weekends, and te pool table was still here.

We visited on a Wednesday night in April. The pub was pretty quiet, but the atmosphere was good, and the lager tasted great.

The toilets are still in the same location, past the bar area.

I had been stacking all day, so desperately needed to visit the gents...

Looks like the same toilet bowl in this mens cubicle, the one on the left, as last time, maybe with a new roll holder... man I needed that loo roll!

Nice to see a bog brush too, it's the done thing to clean up after yourself when you can!

The loo flushed well.

If in the cubicle, spin round and take a look out of the door at the rest of the toilets room.

The sinks, mirror and dryer are on your left, the metal trough to your right, and the entrance dark red door opposite.

The trough is a good shape, perched upon a false walling!

From the sinks, which worked fine but had no soap, we can see the two cubicles. The aforementioned review mentions the one on the left, the one on the right has a lighter coloured seat, and is a different shape.

The hand dryer is a Micromark MM30559 - with a nice green information sticker. It worked well, but has seen better times, and is rusting away at the bottom.

Still a good pub, and lavatories!

7/10
