Description:
Congleton's White Lion is tucked away snuggly on the main High St of the town, opposite the Town Hall, amongst shops.

Why not call in? There is parking on the road outside.

A small and cosy pub, with a low roof, the building is all wite with black beams, along with brass ornamants and pictures on the wall. There is also an open fire, with guard, that provides heat to the whole pub, especially in the winter.

As you enter the door, there are seating chambers to the left and right, a further seating area to the far right, and the bar to the far left. There is also extra room to stand, and pegs for coats etc.

The bar often has bands on, which sit in the front left of the pub before the bar area.

To the bar, and we find a good selection of beverages and snacks. Why not get a bottle of Newcy Brown and a packet of Pork Crackling, and relax with a friend at the Quiz Machine.

Overall the atmosphere is friendly, you get a fair few passing p*ss heads, just in for one drink, but friendly enough.

Outside the back door is an extensive beer garden, with many picnic tables, going up to a higher level to the rear, and with barbeque facilities for the summer.

Although my visit was a winter one, i can imagine this pub garden being very nice in the summer, relaxing with a pint and food, amongst plants, and there is even a large rabbit hutch enclosure for your perusal!

Most importantly, the bogs are outside too, on your left hand side!

Into the gents through the latched door, and you will find a massive L shaped p*ss stone, set on the white painted brick walls and black floor, it is a magnificent find!

It looked well kept, and smelt ok, the only qualms in here are that the room can be very cold, but thats to be expected outdoors.

Opposite the entrance, to the left of the p*sser, is the sink area, again all seemed to be in order here.

The disappointment was in the sh*tter, or more specifically the lack of light, see picture!

There is a nice bog in here, white with black lid, bog roll, bog brush, bin, and a nice cistern.

All worked well, but was far to dark on an evening session to see if you'd wiped properly!

A Character Filled Pub.
