Description:
The Bulls Head is located right outside Manchester Picadilly railway station, if you exit via the new glas fronted escalator entrance, to the taxi rank on Fairfield Steet.
The pub is on the corner of London Road, and Fairfield Street, opposite the old fire station. The pub looks quite large and majestic from the outside, so lets take a look inside.
Entering on a saturday night, you will probably find the pub bustling with life. The pub is large with high ceilings, and seating areas. It is well lit, and the atmosphere was friendly on our visit.
We staggered to the bar and ordered some spirits, Vodka, Malibu, Whisky, prices were good, and they hit the spot. Also on the bar was a good selection of beers, snacks and nuts.
As this was a flying visit, before the train home, we simply had our spirits, then went a looking for the toilets.
To the right of the bar, you will find a door to tha ladies, the gents are up some stairs, to the left from here.
The gents room is nicely painted / decorated. There are green and white tiles up to about one metre, with cream paint above, the floor is grey.
You will see 3 nice urinal pots snuggled up against this good tile work, note the nice decorative top tiles, a good p*ss target perhaps?
Opposite are 2 sinks, and 2 good sized mirrors. All taps worked, and there was hand soap too. There was also a nice piece of art on the wall, a nice touch in a busy city centre bar.
There is a single toilet cubicle, which is located near the door.
On inspection we found a single white bog, with white plastic seat, bog roll, and white bog brush. The sh*thouse was reasonably well kept.
As a sign of modern times, post smoking ban, there was a polite notice on the wall warning people that if they smoke in the cubicle, they will let the fire alarms off, get outside if you need a fag!
Overall, a flying stop, but we were impressed, nice clean sh*tters too.
7/10
