Description:
This pub, as the name would imply is an Irish themed / owned pub in the centre of Stockport town centre.
We came in mid-week during the day for beer and food, both of which were excellent, and reasonably priced.
I don't know about Irish Themed, but this pub has a Beatles Theme going on, loads of "Fab Four" memorabilia occupies the wallspace in here.
There are two areas to the pub, front and back, with the bar in the middle bit.
The atmosphere in here was good, and the staff were most friendly.
The Gentlemans Toilets are in a white / creamy tiled room, with a dark floor.
There is a medium sized metal trough to pee in. It had no soap, and was showing some signs of decay, as did the wall it was attached to, see photo.
To the left is a fruit condom machine!
Opposite is the sink, mirror, dryer etc. Again, no soap here either, not good for a food pub.
The toilet bowl was bland, all white, and the roll holder was broken / missing (see pic), so bog rolls were stacked on the cistern.
All flushed ok though, and the cubicle door locked.
Perhaps the best feature here is a carved wooden piece of art depicting a young man having a wee in a toilet, under the word "GENTS".
A good pub, bogs are a bit plain, but the quality sign makes up for them.
7/10
