The Music Box is located underneath the Jilly's Rockworld nightclub on Oxford St in Manchester. The entrance is to the left of the Jillys entrance.

You will probably have come here to see a band, in which case you will pay at the top of the stairs, before descending into the darkness.

At the bottom of the dark staircase, you will be greeted with a dark room. If this is your first visit then you may be a little confused right now. Take the door on the left to enter the bar area.

You will see a long enclosed bar on your left, and a stage area at the far end.

The room is a long rectangle, with an A-Frame type false roofing support which follows the room down, and is entwined with cables and lighting equipment.

Right, to the bar, and you may be in for a surprise akin to "F*cking Hell".

You will probably have already paid 10-15 to get in on a band night, to then find that theie is no draught beer, and that Cans of Strongbow, Red Stripe and Guinness are 3.10 each will leave you a little shocked, and ripped off.

On our visit the tins were warm too! The other alternatives are bottled Budweiser and Ales, but these are yet more expensive.

The bar's redeeming feature is undoubtedly the music, that you will have come to see, or perhaps the toilets...

The bogs are in another room, accessible from out in the dark room you came to when you descended the stairs. I beleive this room was once full of pool tables.

Right, enter the gents down a long blue corridor to find a dark-ish room with bluey/green tiling and a black-sh tiled floor.

To your right is a "Stained Steel" p*ss trough, opposite are 3 sinks and a mirror.

The p*sser was good, and smelt ok. The sinks worked too.

Take a right from the sinks to notice the pull-towel hand-towel. These are few and far between now, so always welcome!

It is covered in stickers and sslogans, but works a treat!

Opposite are two toilet cubicles, lets have a look in one.

It is typical music bar territory here, with graffiti clad walls. The bogs themselves are white with a black seat. Mine was full of p*ss, you can't expect music goers to flush!

The large bog roll holder is also graffiti, sitcker and fag-burn clad, nice!

Overall, a pricey bar, but good music and top bogs!
