Description:
J. Kennedy's is located on Georges Quay, just down from Burgh Quay on the banks of the River Liffey.

It is quite a quiet and old fashioned pub. Whilst it might be said that the pub could do with a lick of paint, it may well be that this pub provides a little welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the bigger pubs and clubs.

If you've been to Messrs Maguires, just down the road, then Kennedys will seem a world away.

Drinks prices aren't amazingly cheap, average for this end of town, but the Guinness was spot on.

The pub will probably be full of a lot of old men, but the atmosphere was friendly.

As mentioned, the decor is dated. Very dated in some ways, such as the old heaters, but some of us like a bit of nostalgia.

Find the toilets at the back of the pub, to your left.

My first reaction on entering the door to the gents was 'Brilliant!'

These bogs are old-school, unashamedly old and loving it!

The room is well lit, white, and has a grey floor.

There is a Urinal / P*ss Stone opposite you as you enter, piped to the ceiling and set against some cream tiling. It was clean, though it did kiff a bit.

A the rear of the room is a cubicle. It is of wooden construction, with a wooden door, and looks like a DIY installation.

The bog inside was white with a black plastic seat, though the seat was a little dis-jointed (see photo).

The flush is a pull-chain variety, above the bog from a nice black cistern.

There was some bog-roll in a nice big, and vlear plastic, roll holder, and the lock worked a treat.

Back out, and as you'll be washing your hands in the basic looking sink, you'll see another Gem of this pub...

A proper old-fashioned pull-towel hand-towel dispenser, with blue and white towel in it!

This was a little damp from all the wet mens hands that had visited recently, but it was all good.

There was also a brush/broom on hand, which more than made up for the lack of a proper bog-brush for the toilet.

Brilliant

9/10
