Description:
Madigans is quite a large, long, pub located north of the River Liffey in Dublin.

It does food during the day, along with a good selection of beers and coffee etc.

The pub is quite lightly lit, and if you sit at the end of the pub you'll be treated to the fine stained-glass ceiling to look at!

Sit back with a delicious pint of Guinness and take in the decor or watch Setanta Sports on the telly.

The loo's are located downstairs, again from the rear of the pub.

You'll arrive down a corridor after going downstairs, take a right door into the gents, then do a 180 degre turn. There is a toilet on your left, or on forwards to the urinal p*ss stone.

On your right is the sink area.

Lets go straight on.. The stone is quite large, and well lit. It looks well cleaned, and had some blue soaps in it.

The white stone gleams in the light, and is set well against the more-grey floor and wall tiling.

One of the best, and unusual, features here is the addition of paintings on the tiles above the urinal stone (see photo).

There are four of these, two either side of the cistern, and they show hounds and a bird, a very nice painting.

The sink area houses two sinks, soap, a hand dryer, and a pull-towel hand-towel, along with a mirror and condom machine, all tightly packed into a small space, but impressive all the same.

The toilet, opposite the sink, is an altogether different experience.

It houses a bowl, roll, paper and the door locks, but the lighting is Blue/Purple, and very dark, so it is difficult to see what you are doing.

Apparently this lighting is to stop people hving sex in toilets, as the colour apparently messes with the brain to try and turn you off!

A good pub, nice urinals, strange cubicle!

7/10

“I arrived with three friends and by chance ordered a traditional breakfast, I can only say it was one of the finest we ever had and can highly recomend to other visitors to this real Dublin pub. The old guy on the door was so funny he should be on the stage.”
