Description:
The Grey Horse Inn is on Portland Street. It is an old pub, a few doors down from The Circus Tavern, which is probably the older and smaller of the two. You'll also probably know The Old Monkey, on the corner.

You'll find the Grey Horse easy to spot from its narrow white painted exterior.

As mentioned, this is and old and small pub. In contrast to the Circus Tavern, it is laid out as one room, not unlike a room in a small house, with the bar on one side, and plenty of tables. It is well lit, and the service is friendly. You'll find good beer is always served, and there is usually music playing to entertain you.

Given it's central location along Portland St, The Grey Horse may make an ideal stop-off pub, maybe en route to China Town which is located just around the back.

Take the back door, past the bar, and follow through to the outside to find the Gents Toilets, opposite.

The offering consists of a big long stone urinal, a single cubicle at the far end, and a little corner sink basin.

The room is white coloured, but is quite dimly lit, the floor is black / dark coloured.

The path by the trough is quite narrow, two fat people may get in a squeeze, resulting in one being trown into the urinal bays!

As mentioned, these are bays on a large p*ss stone, with old metal piping, but with p*ss soaps for freshness!

The wash basin is tiny, and is in a corner at the end of the room, again past the urinal corridor. It has hot and cold, and a towel will be hung up waiting for you. It can get damp in here in the winter, so trust the towel at your peril!

At the other end of the room is the single toilet cubicle. It is a narrow cubicle that houses an un-exciting white bog with a mahogany / brown coloured wooden seat.

More interesting is the black cistern, above, and the rather peculiar twin roll holder, attached to the back of the door, which did lock I may add.

As mentioned, these toilets can get a bit wet and damp in the winter-time, so maybe not the first choice place to take a dump when out in Manchester!

That said, this is a Pub and Bogs with tremendous character!

7/10
