Description:
What a lovely little pub the Rising Sun in Rainow is... think Guest Ales, Good Home-Cooked Food, and a warm atmosphere...

You may be here for food, maybe popping in whilst on a walk.

Take a look at the menu, and the specials boards. The lunchtime special deal of 2 courses for 6.00 is brilliant.

We all had the Chicken, Leek and Bacon Pie with Home-Made Chips and Veg, it was lovely. The staff were friendly, and brung us condiments on request.

We ran a tab for our food and our drink, which we paid at the end. On tap was Black Sheep Bitter, and Red Mist, an offering from the local Storm Brewing Company, both very nice tipples.

The pub is old, with beams and photos on walls. There is an extension which is basically a big conservatory. We sat in there as we thought it would be cooler after walking up the hill to the pub. I'm glad we did as the views of the hills are stunning.

To locate the toilets, pass the bar and turn right. If you enter the pool room, then you've gone past it.... the "gents" sign is quite discreet.

On entrance there is a bowl cubicle straight ahead, and the urinal area to the left.

I found the room was a little dark in the daytime, hopefully it is well lit at night.

The p*ss stones are old, and in a L-Shape round a corner near a little window.

The cistern above had mould above, and was dripping with condensation underneath.

Next to the p*ssers is a "Norweb" branded automatic hand dryer, pump hand-soap, and mirror. There is also an old printed mirror of a vintage sports car.

The toilet cubicle is quite large, and has a plain whit bowl under it. It was very clean, and flushed well. There was a roll holder, and more roll on the window sill. To the left of the toilet sat a plastic bog brush.

We can recommend the Rising Sun whole-heartedly, and the bogs are good too!

7/10
