Description:
The Cheshire Cheese is a big pub at the top of the hill near the market place in Buxton.

It is long in shape, with a low beamed roof, several little sections, and a beer garden to the front.

There is also a pool room, and a live band area.

The pub offers food, cooked by award winning chef "Boff".

From Boff's Kitchen come several meals at just 2.99, including Fish & Chips.

We came on a sunday and had the Sunday Roast, with a pint of bitter, all served by a nice friendly tattooed barman.

The Sunday Roast consists of Beef or Pork, 2 Yorkshire Puddings, Stuffing, Roast Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Peas, Carrots, Cauliflour, Brocolli and Gravy, all for a very good 5.95.

It came very quick, served by a nice waitress, and tasted excellent, as did the beer!

The clientelle was a mix of locals and sports teams, all very friendly.

Afterwards, I located the gents... turn left down past the pool table.

On the right of the narrow gentleman's room is a long metal trough, set against cream tiles and a cream wall, with a large piece of wood behind it, see photo.

It had yellow p*ss soaps, nice metal cistern too!

Past the urinal is the sink worktop, housing two small metal round sinks. Both worked well, as did the soap and old hand drier.

There is also a condom machine.

To the left of the sink area is a small cubicle set in a corner.

This houses a nice loo with a good right-hand flush handle and white plastic seat.

There was a lock on the door, loo roll, and a bog brush. The only criticism was that the floor was quite wet.

Great Pub + Good Bogs! 8/10
