Description:
The Jolly Judge is a long, thin, beamed ceiling pub, tucked away down a little passage way from the Royal Mile.

It is very cosy, and full of character, and characters!

On the bar you will find some real ales, and the whisky and spirit selection is immense.

We popped by one evening, and enjoyed a couple of scoops whilst sat st the bar reading the paper.

The pub is tarditionally furnisehed, with an open fireplace.

Where are the toilets you ask? Upstairs...

From the "Ye Olde" interior of the downstairs pub, a trip upstairs to the bogs is something of a disappointment. Not in terms of quality or cleanliness, but in the fact that it is all modern.

So then, there are 2 urinals to the right of the room, sinks opposite, and a toilet at the far end.

The two white urinals are nicely presented on a piece of light brown wood. The urinal basins are good ones too, with deep exit pipes in the ceramic construction.

The toilet cistern is again encased in this quality wood, with a nice central flush button. The bog is white, with a metal bog brush, and loads of bum roll.

However, the cubicle is of cheap construction and ill-fought out.

Finally, the sink, which has a nice modern tap on it. It sits with soap under a mirror, and for drying there is a choice of electronic dryer, or paper towelettes, for which a bin is provided.

Great atmospheric pub. Modern, but clean loos. 6/10.
