Description:
A lovely village pub, slap bang wallop in the middle of Combs, near Chapel-en-le-Frith, High Peak.

It is a one way road into Combs, so you are probably here for a walk or for cycling in the surrounding hills. If not, and you're lost, stop, and get in the beehive!

From the front the pub is very modest. There are picnic tables outside for summer eating and drinking, and cycles can be left outside. There is a car park across the road, or you can park on the road side.

Enter and you'll be greeted by a lovely traditional pub. A good building with proper furniture, carpets, and period features.

The pub is very busy at weekends and in the summer, and indeed at seasonal times too. We were here for a Christmas meal.

The pub was packed, we were greeted and seated, and then we got some ales from the well stocked bar. Beers include the delicious Copper Dragon!

The food was top notch, with staggered pricing, by the course. It came quick too, served by the equally tasty waitresses!

We could quite easily have spend the day in here, a great pub, great beer, and top notch scran.

To the sh*tters then... pass the bar and go down a step, turn right and follow the corridor to the gents.... mind the step on entrance through the door!

The gents room is well prsented in black wall tiles. There are 3 urinals, with blue splash guards / filters, and in a good clean state.

The singular cubicle houses a white toilet, with right hand flush. There was a bog brush and toilet paper too. Notice the nice border tiling in the cubicle photo!

A sink area nestles at the end of the room. It has a nice wooden worktop with the sink in, nice taps, soap, and an electronic hand dryer. To the right is a small window, with a plant.

Mind those steps on your return to the bar area!

Great Pub - 9/10
