The Blue Bell in Attenborough is an old pub in the village. The modern pub takes it name from the original Bell Inn which was located opposite the village green in Attenborough.. The modern day pub has changed hands quite frequently from its original Home Brewery. The pub recently changed hands again to one of the ‘Flaming Grill’ Companies collections. The pub has done well under the new owners and attracts quite a high number of customers. The pub is not really a drinkers pub and now under the Flaming Grill pub name is a great place to get a cheap meal. The pub has kept its original pool table and often on a weekend night locals can been seen playing dominos and traditional pub games.
The bar stocks a variety of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. This pub only has two real ales on at a time and is often not kept very well. So this pub is probably not for the real ale drinkers out there. Now after six pints its off to the sh*tters.
The Toilets in the Blue Bell are located right in the centre of the pub behind the bar. When walking into the Gents you will be surprised to see quite a small toilet for a big pub. Four urinals line the walls and two small cubicles. Upon my visit the lock on the cubicle was broken and someone had p*ssed on the floor. The pubs staff answer to this toilet dilemma was to place a tea towel on it to soak up the pee (as you can see from the photo). The toilet over all is well cleaned and disappointedly there were no stains on the walls.
Overall I rate the pubs toilets 7/10 for the tea towel effort.
