Jamie Oliverís new restaurant in Nottingham is not a pub but the toilets are so fantastic there we had to review it.
The restaurant opened this year (2011) and has done quite well up to now. Oliverís new one million pound restaurant Is located in the listed old 18th century townhouse in Low Pavement.
The food is great here setting you back between ten to twenty pound. The wine is expensive in here just for a standard red so be warned. Not much beer offer here except for fancy larger. Also its best to book before you go, perhaps two weeks in advance. The restaurant can get very busy especially evenings and weekends.
Now the best part of the restaurant are the toilets.
The toilets are located actually in the sandstone caves underneath, what a gem of an idea. Walk down the steps which will lead you to both the ladies and gents. The toilets are antique sh*tters from non other than Thomas Crapper, fantastic!! What a wonderful antique touch.
Above the head were ancient arches and in the walls held vintage wine bottles encased in a wired cage. They had even exposed one of the original tunnels which looked like it went on forever. No person could walk down it unfortunately as they'd padlocked the glass doors. What a fantastic idea to expose the original caves and preserve the raw materials of the building, it was certainly a sight to see!
These toilets are wonderful an defiantly worth a visit. The restaurant is great to.
Come here for a pukka meal as Mr Oliver would say and take a big sh*t after your meal in these lovely antique toilets.
This is defiantly worth a 10/10
