Description:
The Hop Pole is a local traditional community pub situated in Beeston. It is a very old, unspoilt pub dating back to 1870. With its lovely original beams and 2 fireplaces, this gives the pub a very warm, homely feel.

The pub was once a popular pub in Beeston and was great real ale establishment. But since the last year or two this place has gone down hill dramatically.

We came in here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was empty. On the bar was a good selection of ale. On offer was Doom Bar, Harvest Pale,Bombardier and a Bateman's beer I believe. Although there is a good selection here the beer is not kept as well as it use to. We came here a few months previous and all of the ale in the pub was off, shocking!!

To add to this the landlady is a bit of a dragon and she kept given us the evil eye. We were out of there as quick as we could finish our drinks. A quick slash before we go.

The dragon lady directed us to the toilets which are situated to the right of the bar. Perhaps these bogs will redeem this awful place.

Lets take a look inside.

A nice surprise when we walk in. On offer is a lovely looking stone p*ss trough. Great to p*ss out that awful kept beer into.

One cubicle in here with plenty of cleaning fluid in. Lovely looking window in here which was open letting all the smells out. A selection of loo rolls on the shelf in the cubicles (see photos).

A decent enough sink area in here. No soap in dispenser so we had to make do with a Tesco replacement. A PHS handryer in here and plastic bin. Taps let water out a bit sharp and quick.

Overall not a very nice pub. But the loos made up for it a little.

5/10.
