Description:
The Lazy Trout is situated in Meerbrook, a stones-throw from Titesworth Reservoir in the Staffordshire Hills above Leek, next door the the Meerbrook Youth Hostel.

Outside is car parking, and room for mountain bikes, further car parking is located at the rear.

Enter through the front door and you will find the bar straight in front of you, to your left is an old style room, and to your right is a more recently added room.

The old room on the left is full of old trinkets, beer jugs and brass wares, an has a very cosy feel.

The modern room is plain in comparison, but with good seating and an open fire, still retains a cosy feel.

The bar is small, but well stocked. Fosters is 2.30 a pint, there are some Banks Bitters available, and many spirits and bottles, as well as soft drinks.

The pub primarily serves its purpose for food and drink for ramblers and cyclists, and other countryside visior, as well as those from the youth-hostel. Hot meals are available most of the day, otherwise potato chips are available with a pint.

a few amusements include a quiz machine and a fruit machine, or you can always have a game of cards as your get bladdered!

The toilets are located to the rear of the building, by the back door to the car park.

ladies are on your right and gents on your left.

Enter the wooden door to the gents, and you will see a plain room, lit by a rear window.

The two p*ss-pots on your right are quite neat and tidy, with nice pipe work. A black border on the white tiles provides a good backdrop and a visual target when p*ssing off.

The cubicle is at the back of the room. I was quite disappointed in that the light was not working in there.

I found a white toilet with a white handle and a black seat, the pipework is a little tatty, but overall ok.

Somebody had failed to flush all their toilet roll away though! But yes, there was plenty of loo roll available, so full marks here.

Turn back round to exit and the singular sink is located in the corner by the door. hand soap was available and the hand-dryer is located by the window. It is quite high up thhough, children might struggle!

Overall, a nice pub in a very nice setting.

7/10
