The Rose of England is located in Nottingham City Centre on Mansfield Road. Not far from the Victoria Centre this pub is handy to go into after a bit of shopping.

The building was designed by Nottingham's most respected Architects, Watson Fothergill. A very fine piece of Victroian design, this building if it is not already should be listed!

Formerly the Yorker, this famous and architecturally striking public house has had a great number of name changes over the years. Originally a hotel, it was built in 1898, with the title of the Rose of England which it inherited from a recently demolished pub. For a brief spell the Yorker became the City Alehouse before chaging to the Filly and Firkin and in 2000 reverting to the Rose of England.

A mixed clientele in here, but always a good bunch. Mostly regulars supping at the bar, but other folk pop in for a few bevies.

A good selection of ales. We had a couple of pints of Theakstons Old Peculier, which was very much needed after all that shopping!

Nice choice of Malt Whiskeys also available. Cheap good quality Sunday roasts. Occasional Beer Festivals and has made it into 2012 Good Beer Guide for first time!

Right lets inspect the sh*thouse!

The toilets are located to the far end of the pub, passed the bar and go down a very small corridor. The Gents are at the far end.

First thing we hear on entering is Motorhead playing on the speakers, classy!

A fairly straight forward bog affair in the Rose of England.

We have just one cubicle which lines the wall to the right hand side. The cubicle was clean and plenty of bog roll, etc...

Straight ahead we have two urinals, which had a few p*ss soaps in them.

The sink area is rather compact. We have two sinks. Above this is a rather nice round wall mirror. Also there is a soap dispenser above. Next to this is the condom machine.

The hand dryer is behind you as you face the sinks.

A simple bog here with everything you need on offer.

A great pub which seems to get better every time we go in. Well worth a visit when in the City Centre or near the Vic Centre.
