This is a very modern bar to go to in the summer and you really should visit it in the summer. We came in mid December on a Saturday night and the place was fairly quiet. We had already been on a pub crawl of some of the pubs along the canal and decided to make this our final watering hole. We soon regretted that decision, as there was no action going off here!
There are lots of outdoor seating next to the canal here, but in mid winter who the f*ck wants to sit outside?
It's actually more or less in a backstreet this place and as you can gather from the name it is situated next to the canal.
The bar staff here were not particularly friendly and the ales on offer were nonexistent We had a pint of horrible tasting John Smiths, which actually made me need a sh*t.
The bogs are located in an awkward location here. They are up some stairs.
After that gone off John Smiths I quickly had to make a bomb drop of sh*te into the nearest cubicle. Once I sat down to unload that greasy kebab I had earlier, I noticed that the cubicle was quite modern and clean inside.
There was plenty of bog roll to soak up my left overs and the flush worked well, which was a good job as I had left a big load in the bowl.
The sinks worked fine and the rest of the facilities were good in the bog. We particularly liked the long big wall mirrors which stretch across the wall in the gents.
Overall a dismal pub really and a bar where we would not want to return again for a second visit.
The toilets redeemed the place slightly, but the poor location of the bogs just made our visit even worse.
