Description:
We had already been to Jamie's Italian in Nottingham and had enjoyed our visit overall. So we were expecting great stuff from this place.

We came here at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was full with a long line of people waiting for tables. Obviously very popular at anytime. We were seated after about 15 minutes and our order taken quickly. Starter/nibbles came quite fast but we had a very long wait for our main course which I assume was due to how busy the restaurant was, but when the food came it was good. We had a burger, and a pasta bake from the specials board.

The food that arrived was hot, tasty and decent proportions, except the extra portion of chips. A tiny souffle sized pot for £3.85. Super tasty, but would have liked more. Overall the food was good but nothing special.

The loud music in the background was a bit annoying at times. Staff were a bit slow and with the exception of one staff member the staff just all seemed so unapproachable and not at all pleasant.

We remembered that the toilets from the Nottingham restaurant were very nice and were fitted with antique crappers. So we were expecting the same from this place and we were not disappointed. The sh*tters were 'pukka bogs' as Mr Oliver would say!

The bogs here are located upstairs.

Our expectations were not let down. The toilets here are very vintage fitted with antique bog fittings.

The bog décor is white tiles on the wall and a greyish looking floor.

A look in cubicle showed a lovely old toilet bowl with a Crapper's Valveless Waste Preventer Cistern (see photo). The toilet bowl was fitted with a lovely comfortable brown toilet seat which I bet has seen it's fair share of bums over the years.

Huge rectangular sinks here with huge drooping taps. These worked a gem and were very nice indeed!

Lovely toilets!!!

Would we come again to eat at Jamie’s Italian in Liverpool? Probably not, as we were a little disappointed and would want to try somewhere else.

However the excellent vintage sh*tters made up for the food and poor service. We would most certainly visit again just to take a sh*t in the wonderful gents.

Poor restaurant on our visit. But lovely bogs.

3/10- for the restaurant itself.

9/10- for the toilets.
