Sometimes charitable operations hide behind their status as an excuse for poor service but this is definitely NOT the case here. Crag House Farm is a bit off the beaten track, but when we arrived midweek early afternoon the car park and restaurant were about 80% full so very popular.
We were immediately shown to a table in the renovated barn and did not have to wait long for orders to be taken or food to be served. The menu provided a small but varied choice of main meals together with sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc. Bottled beers, ciders and wine are available.
Both my steak and my companion's burger used beef raised on the farm. An accompanying salad was so fresh it must have been picked from the farm's greenhouses that morning. All of the staff were efficient and friendly, giving the impression that they were really concerned to give good service.
The toilets were just as good. Superb modern and very clean bogs here.
I went into one of the cubicles. Very spacious inside and had everything I needed, including bog roll, bin and a well working lock on the door. There was even a mirror in the cubicle above the toilet bowl which was a nice addition to the cubicle.
We had a excellent meal here and the bogs were ace.
