We decided to stay here for one night to check out the hotel.
The North Shore is easy to find and has a car park. The beach is a short walk away and it has a superb golf course and golfing facilities.
There is pleasant bar with tables for bar food and is reminiscent of Marstons Inn or maybe a Wetherspoons eating area. We found the bar had a very friendly relaxing feel to eat and plenty of seating for a drink and later a meal.
The meals are really fairly priced for a hotel and there is a wide range to choose from. We wanted a light meal and so went for Soup of the Day, really delicious, and Tuna Mayonnaise Jacket Potatoes. All very nice and total of £20.40.
We also had a few drinks which were also charged for in the reasonable price zone. There is a restuarant but they serve set menus and there would be too much food for us on this occasion plus at £24.50 per person for three courses unnecessarily expensive too.
The main public toilet for the bar is quite close by.
After we found everywhere else in the hotel to be spotless we were expecting the toilets to be just as clean! However we were disappointed to see some areas of the gents toilets to be dirty.
In the cubicle we found the toilet bowl to be dirty and p*ss stained. I decided to give the bowl a good clean with the toilet brush provided only to find that dirty too. To top it all there was not much bog roll left and there was no new rolls provided! It was a good job I had a packet of tissues in my pocket to wipe my sh*t hole with!
All that excepted in the bog we would still recommend this hotel as it offers good food, good drinks, cosy rooms and for the most part decent sh*tters which could, however, improve tremulously with a good clean!
