The Town House, formerly Maxwell's is tucked away on King Edward Street, near Macc Library.

The pub has had some work done since Maxwells buggered off, and is looking quite modern and stylish.

Busy at lunchtimes due to its location and good food menu, the bar is also trying to nail the night time market (something maxwells rarely did) by launching Macclesfield's only regular Comedy Night!

The decor is modern and attractive with sky sports on flat screen tellys etc. Upstairs is also more seating, and all tables are usually set out with napkins and wotnot for food.

A pint of Black Sheep will set you back 2.05, there is also Ruddles and Bombardier on tap! top hat!

The sh*thouses are on the ground floor, and tucked away to the right hand side of the pub.

enter a corridor, the ladies are on your left and the gents on your right...

The first thing you will notice on entering the gents is how lovely and bright the room is. There is a lot of natural light, and the plain very light blue mottled tiling and white paint enhance the available light to great effect.

The p*ssers are to your immediate left, sink opposite, and cubicle at the far end of the room.

There a 3 attractive matching urinal basins, well spaced and well presented.

There is a fresh smell in here, these toilets are obviously well looked after.

To the toilet at the end of the room, passing a wooden framed mirror on the way.

The cubicle room has a lot of space, and benefits from it's own radiator, painted a matching blue.

The toilet itself is all white, with white seat and cistern.

It is nice and clean and smells good.

There is a large white roll dispenser, but i think it may be inactive as there are two orange toilet rolls on the window ledge.

Set back from the large roll holder is a smaller paper-towel holder.

The finishing touch is a nice light blue bog brush, neatly hidden in a discrete location behind the crapper.

Out of the crapper, lets inspect the sink....

It is a single white sink, with twin taps, hot and cold, and both work perfectly. There is even a black plug to make your day fulfilled!

Immediately above is the dryer, working great, and to your right is a soap dispenser, well stocked.

To the left of here is a metal condom dispenser.

Summing up, this is a nice friendly pub, clean and well presented.

Toilets are small and basic, but in great shape, well kept and well presented, i can't fault them.

Overall 8/10

Update May/June 2008:
Was in on Saturday night, well loving the dispenser for seat wipes!

Update March 2009:
Was in last night, the place is looking good, and the beers were top notch! The bogs were nice and clean, and the cubicle door loacked, however, the flush handle was very loose and may end up falling off soon, see new photo.

Great Pub - 8/10

Update June 2010:
The pub is back under old management, so to speak. The place is looking great, it now has a pool table, and beer prices and choice are some of the best in town!

Toilets wise, all is looking good, although we did see this dirty deposit, see photo, that somebody had left on our latest visit!
